Telugu Desam Party president hurriedly went to BJP bigwig Amit Shah in a desperate attempt to finalize the alliance with the NDA for the coming Andhra Pradesh polls. This meeting happened in Delhi last night and it has caught the attention of AP political circles now.
However, this meeting is more of a formality where Naidu is willing to somehow join hands with the NDA alliance by hook or crook in order to have the blessings of the central BJP high command in the future, it appears. Else, there is no logical backing to Naidu's meeting after commenting against Modi's family and calling for Shah's apology even in the 2018 election campaign.
As per the buzz, Naidu had very little scope for negotiating in front of Amit Shah. The BJP high command knows full well that TDP is also in a pitiful condition with 23 MLAs and 3 MPs, one of them who is with YCP(Kesineni) and the other(Galla Jaydev) who has quit politics.
So the ballpark that BJP is operating in is around about 10 MPs and similar count of MLA tickets. Naidu has not many options but to work with this.
But if BJP actually helps to help the alliance and go down on their demand, then the number of MLA and MP tickets it will get in the alliance might narrowly go down. What's for certain is that Naidu has no bargain powers this time as he is the one who is desperate for the alliance and not the other way around.
