Hanuman OTT: Trimmed version available in just one language

'HanuMan', the massive blockbuster released for Sankranthi this year, today arrived on ZEE5. The Prasanth Varma directorial, starring Teja Sajja as the hero, is streaming in Telugu. The Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam versions are not streaming.

As pointed out by many Netizens and some media reports, the OTT version is somewhat shorter than the theatrical version. The running time difference is about eight minutes, which is not a small difference for a blockbuster. Usually, when the theatrical version becomes a big hit, the makers and the OTT platform gain the confidence to release a longer version. It happened with 'Animal' and a few other movies.

'HanuMan', produced by Nirajan Reddy, has BGM by Gowra Hari. In a fictional town named Anjanadri, Hanumanthu (Teja Sajja) is an idler who thinks he is a hero but is incapable of showing a spine to the village's feudal lord. Lord Hanuman, who oversees the village, knows that Hanumanthu is destined to own a blessed gem that blesses him with supreme physical prowess. A wannabe superhero named Michael (Vinay Rai) is in the town with the ulterior motive of assuming supernatural powers. Can he trump Hanumanthu? That's what the story is about.

The Hindi version is streaming on Jio Cinema.
