Naga Chaitanya, Sai Pallavi's 'Thandel' cracks a Rs 40 Cr deal: Reports

If reports emerging on Monday are anything to go by, 'Thandel' has struck gold with Netflix. The Chandoo Mondeti directorial is believed to have come out with flying colours after holding negotiations with the streaming platform regarding the film's post-theatrical digital release. Rs 40 Cr is on offer from Netflix. Producer Bunny Vasu and presenter Allu Aravind are elated with the offer. This is an omnibus deal for all major southern languages as well as Hindi.

The online talk is that the film's theme of a rural underdog (played by Naga Chaitanya) from India taking on the might of Pakistani savagery has helped the makers strike the astounding deal. The popularity of the 'India Vs Pakistan' sub-genre is huge among the Hindi audience.

Chay will be delivering dialogues in the distinctive Srikakulam slang in the film. Star heroine Sai Pallavi will be seen in a homely look. With music by Devi Sri Prasad, the film has cinematography by Shamdat of 'Virupaksha' fame. Edited by Navin Nooli, its story has been written by Kartheek Theeda. The art direction is by Srinagendra Tangala.

The film, as is known, will hit the screens on December 20.
