The Sankranthi release 'Naa Saami Ranga' starred Akkineni Nagarjuna in the lead. Directed by newcomer Vijay Binni, it was produced by Srinivasaa Silver Screen. While 'HanuMan' was the biggest hit this Sankranthi, 'NSR' became a profitable venture for distributors with ease.
From February 17, the film will start streaming on Disney Plus Hotstar. "Just one more week until we get to see the King (sic)," the streaming platform said.
Already, two other Sankranthi releases are streaming on OTT: 'Saindhav' is available on Amazon Prime Video, while 'Guntur Kaaram' is streaming on Netflix. 'HanuMan' is the only Sankranthi release left to arrive on OTT. It will do so soon on Zee5.
In our review of 'Naa Saami Ranga', we opined that the remake attempts to be a part comedy, part emotional drama with 1990s-style entertainment. We added that the results were patchy. "Give it a try if you are tired of action thrillers and grave crime capers," our review added.
Nagarjuna will have another release in theatres for Sankranthi next year. It could most probably be 'Bangarraju 2'.
