The other day, the BJP central high command announced that the party is fielding a candidate named Madhavi Latha for the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat. This brings us to the question - Who is Madhavi Latha and why was she picked by BJP for this all-important seat.
Madhavi is the chairperson of the famous Virinchi Hospital in Hyderabad and a stoic Hindutva supporter. She has an MA in Political Science and on the personal front, has home schooled her three children who are now IITians . She taught them everything from Maths, Science, English, to Ramayana, Mahabharata and Gita .
She runs a non-profit organization that provides healthcare, education, and livelihood programs to the underprivileged in Hyderabad. She carries out several philanthropic works in the old city area of Hyderabad.
About getting the BJP ticket and how she plans to bring reformative changes in Hyderabad, she says "I have been seeing for last 8 years. There is no cleanliness and education. Children in Madrasas are not getting food. Temples and Hindu homes are being occupied illegally. Muslim children are uneducated. There is child labour. They have no education or future... They have only one thing to do, riot. and those who are making this happen are taking advantage of it. The old city is in the center of Hyderabad but there is poverty over there."
Asaduddin Owaisi has been winning the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat since 2004 and it has to be seen if Madhavi Latha can end his domination here this time.
