Chilakaluripeta assembly constituency saw a change of candidates after CM Jagan Mohan Reddy replaced Vidadala Rajini with K Manohar Naidu. This could come back to haunt Jagan and his party.
TDP is said to have a slight edge in this assembly segment.
Chilakaluripet has traditionally favored TDP, and Prathipati Pulla Rao, a political heavyweight, is once again contesting from this constituency, with TDP cadre support remaining strong. Pulla Rao has learned from mistakes in the previous election and is proficient in poll management.
On the other hand, YSRCP has faced challenges in selecting the right candidate for this segment. K. Manohar Naidu is encountering competition from Rajesh Naidu, who is splitting votes to some extent from YSRCP, ultimately benefiting TDP.
The chances are that the move to replace Vidadala Rajini might backfire in the face of YCP.
