Satyadev first, Suhas now: Stop the hyping up!

'Uppena' director Buchi Babu Sana has stated that Suhas is the only actor who has no competitor. He compared him with how Vijay Sethupathi is in a similar zone in the Tamil film industry. Recently, it was said that a lot of filmmakers and writers in the Telugu film industry are writing roles imagining Suhas as the male lead.

A few years ago, Satyadev Kancharana would be hailed in a similar fashion by some filmmakers. The actor's performances in films like 'Bluff Master' and 'Godse' were described in superlative terms. Agreed that he was exceptional in 'Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya' and even 'GodFather', but hyping him up as some superstar material was excessive.

Time has proven beyond doubt that Satyadev is no crowd-puller. His 'Gurthunda Seethakalam' was a dud. 'Krishnamma', which is going to hit the screens the coming Friday (May 10), might get good openings because its trailer is interesting. But he is yet to reach the level of even a Naveen Polishetty in terms of crowd-pulling credentials.

Suhas has a long way to go. He has been a terrific actor in some films, but it would make sense to be measured in our praises.
