Vijayawada West ex-MLA Jaleel Khan has taken an interesting decision weeks before the coming assembly election as he met YCP senior Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy. Jaleel has thrown hints to the media that he could be switching parties before the polls.
The senior leader recently met Pawan Kalyan and Chandrababu to discuss his candidacy from Vijayawada West but didn't get assurance from either of them. Since then, he has been skeptical about his future with TDP as he prioritized getting the MLA ticket above all else.
Amid the rumors that the Vijayawada West MLA ticket could go to Janasena due to the alliance equations, Jaleel Khan seems to have started to look at other alternatives. "I will certainly contest in the election, but I can't say which party I will be contesting from. Only time will decide this. I formally met Ayodhya Rami Reddy. I am not leaving TDP yet"
Jaleel Khan first contested on the YCP ticket in 2014 and narrowly won the election, post which he switched to TDP in 2016. Due to the local equations, TDP decided to field Jaleel's daughter Shabana Khatoon from Vijayawada West in 2019 and she ended up losing the election.
Jaleel is determined to contest this election at all costs and he is hinting that he will side with any party that is ready to give him the ticket.
