Why do Mahesh Babu's fans not accept his statement?

At the pre-release event of 'Animal' on Monday, chief guest and actor Mahesh Babu made a sensational confession. He revealed that he has been a huge fan of Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor. "Ranbir is the best actor in India," the 'Guntur Kaaram' actor commented.

Saying such things is par for the course in Tollywood only about senior actors. Ranbir is junior to Mahesh. Had Mahesh said something of this sort about a Chiranjeevi, a Rajinikanth or an Amitabh Bachchan (or even an SRK), nobody would have been shocked.

A section of the fans of Mahesh Babu have started saying that the 'Sarileru Neekevvaru' actor didn't mean his words! "Mahesh anna was merely being nice to his host. He is too big a star hero to say something superlative about a contemporary Bollywood actor," a fanboy wrote.

But there is no reason to believe that Mahesh was just being courteous and that the words didn't come from his heart. Mahesh has no reason to please Ranbir by making a superlative remark in his praise. He could simply have said, "Ranbir is one of the best actors of our times".

Probably, Mahesh genuinely believes that Ranbir is the best. Why can't Mahesh's fans accept it?
