The organizers are keen to secure the presence of a popular celebrity to enhance the event's appeal. Typically, top film actors are the preferred choice for such events as their attendance adds prestige, especially when they appear in a foreign country.
The Telugu Association approached the management team of a popular Tollywood actor, requesting his presence as a chief guest for their upcoming cultural event. However, it is learned that the actor's manager demanded a hefty fee for the appearance, amounting to a few crores. Similarly, a well-known female actor also made a similar demand for her attendance at the event.
The Association was disappointed by the excessive financial demands made by the actors' management teams. They had hoped that the Tollywood hero would express his genuine interest in connecting with the Telugu NRIs and OCIs by attending the cultural event, as a way to reciprocate the love he has received from them over the years.
