It will be over for BRS after LS polls: Prashant Kishor

Prashant Kishor, the prominent political consultant and tactician, today said that the BRS will face an existential crisis if it doesn't put up a decent performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Previously known as the TRS, the party was trounced by the Congress party in last year's Assembly elections to Telangana.

"If I were a leader from the BRS, I would definitely be worried. The party will face an existential crisis after the Lok Sabha election," PK, who has previously mentored the election strategy of many parties, said today at an event hosted by a news daily in Hyderabad

PK's words must be music to the ears of the BJP, which is trying to occupy its space. The saffron party had a tough time battling the powerful regional party in 2018 and 2023. However, in the 2028 Assembly elections, a direct contest between the BJP and the Congress party will be good news to the former.

BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao's party is unpopular in rural Telangana. The space is now increasingly being occupied by the BJP, which is fielding some strong candidates in the upcoming LS polls on 17 seats.
