The ruling party in Telangana, TRS, has rebranded itself as BRS and is now focusing on national politics. The party is heavily relying on the farmer community and has been advocating for their support. Telangana Chief Minister KCR has been emphasizing that farmers are the backbone of society and need to be supported. KCR has also given cheques to the families of farmers who died while protesting against the controversial farm bills.

Recently, KCR held meetings in Maharashtra which have yielded positive outcomes, with leaders from Maharashtra joining the BRS. Abhay Patil Chikatgaonkar, who comes from a political family, joined the party in the presence of KCR.

Sharad Joshi Praneet, a well-known farmer leader, has also joined the BRS, along with several other leaders, at the Pragathi Bhavan. Praneet is the Maharashtra Rythu Sangam Leader, and his joining is expected to give the BRS a boost as it seeks to make a mark in national politics.

The BRS is focusing on areas where Telugu people are in good numbers, particularly in border areas of Maharashtra and Karnataka. The party understands that the farmer community cannot be taken for granted, as seen in the recent elections in Punjab where the Congress party lost power and the Aam Aadmi Party, which supports farmers, came to power. Such huge farmer support can really fetch great dividends for BRS in the future on Maratha land if the strategies are played well.
