On the occasion of International Women's Day, actor-politician Pawan Kalyan has demanded that women should be provided with 33% reservation in legislatures. He stated that this demand was included in the election manifesto of his Jana Sena Party. He further added that he will continue his political efforts to achieve this reservation for women.

Pawan Kalyan added that he believes an increase in the number of seats for women in the legislatures is necessary to ensure that they stand on their own as financially self-reliant and achieve empowerment. He also praised women for being the form of power and having multifaceted talents.

He also emphasized the need to respect women, stating that in a place where women are honored, peace and wealth will flourish. He called for stringent steps to be taken to establish an atrocity-free society for women. All said and done, Pawan is widely known for having three wives and an alleged affair too, and his call for women's rights is being taken with a pinch of salt because his respect for women, his critics believe is only skin deep!
