By the end of Sunday, 'Kalki 2898 AD' will have netted Rs 100 Cr at the Hindi box-office in India. Its Hindi version, within the Indian territory, is expected to collect Rs 28 Cr or thereabouts on Sunday. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday put together, the Prabhas-starrer had amassed about Rs 27 Cr despite the collections on Saturday evening and night getting affected due to the India Vs South Africa Finals match.
As per trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the national chains are seeing consistent growth day after day. "The mass circuits are recording strong occupancies," he said in a statement.
In North America, the film is poised to gross $10 million by the end of Sunday. This is phenomenal by any reckoning.
The success of the film, which also features Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan, has solidified the second part. 'Kalki 2' will go on floors once writer-director Nag Ashwin fine-tunes the script. Some portions meant for the second part were shot alongside the first part.
