Manchu Vishnu says MAA's flagship event in Malaysia will be historic

The Telugu film industry turned 90 in 2022. A grand event has been planned under the aegis of the Movie Artists Association for the past two years. Finally, the curtains have been raised for the flagship event, which will be held in July. It will be a fundraiser event of sorts in Malaysia.

Manchu Vishnu, the President of the MAA, today revealed his plans for the event. The MAA has entered into collaborations with domestic and foreign players for the soon-to-be-held international event. The same has been named as Navathi Utsavam 2024.

Speaking on the occasion, Vishnu spoke of the gigantic strides taken by the Telugu film industry since its birth. He spoke of the immense place occupied by thespians like NTR, ANR, SVR and others. He also referred to the likes of Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna and his father, Mohan Babu, saying that the previous generation of stars shared a friendly bond. Vishnu, who is currently doing his magnum opus 'Kannappa', made a reference to Prabhas, calling him 'Darling'. "I think Prabhas is India's highest-paid actor. Yet, he is so much known for his humility. That's the Telugu industry for you. The upcoming film of SS Rajamouli garu and Mahesh Babu, I am told, is the most expensive Indian film ever. Tollywood's place is at its best today," Vishnu said.

He spoke of the welfare rendered to MAA's needy members since he became the President. "Many members of the MAA are not affluent. From health insurance to other benefits, MAA has been taking care of their needs," Vishnu said.

The speakers on the dias, among them organizers of the July event, said that they were looking forward to making the upcoming event a grand success.
