During the BJP government's reign, there have been multiple instances of not just changing the names of towns, but also erasing their history. The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has recently revised the Class 12 history textbooks, omitting chapters related to the Mughal Empire. This has sparked a debate regarding whether or not this erasure of a community's history is an attempt to conceal the truth.

The syllabus for all boards, including CBSE UP and BJP State Boards that follow NCERT guidelines, has been altered. For the academic year 2023-24, NCERT has introduced a new syllabus, which includes the removal of chapters related to 'Kings and Chronicles.' The Mughal Courts' 'Themes of Indian History-Part II' has also been removed.

Additionally, the 12th-grade civics and history books have undergone updates, including the removal of chapters such as 'US Dominance in World Politics' and 'Cold War Era.' Chapters such as 'Rise of Popular Movements' and 'Era of One-Party Dominance' from 'Politics in India and Independence' have also been excluded from the textbook.

Furthermore, the syllabus for Class 10 and Class 11 has also been revised, with chapters like 'Themes in World History,' 'Central Islamic Lands,' 'Clash of Cultures,' and 'Industrial Revolution' being removed from the Class 11 textbook. It is worth noting that all boards that adhere to NCERT syllabi have revised their syllabi in accordance with the new changes.
