Telangana Congress is more known these days for its infighting and then came the open revolt by the Congress party seniors which has rattled the party like never before in the last eight years after state formation.
Now the news from Delhi is that the Congress high command has shifted AICC in-charge of Telangana affairs Manickam Tagore to Goa. The party has now appointed Manikrao Thakre, currently president of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee as the next in-charge of Telangana with immediate effect. At the same time, the AICC high command has retained Revanth as the PCC chief, and he may stay in this position for next elections too.
The crucial thing is that pro-Revanth Tagore has been shunted out which now clips Revanth’s wings and satisfies seniors and at the same time, the party hasn’t completely surrendered to seniors. Whatever may be the case, the fireworks continued with most senior leaders staying away yesterday from the important PCC programme ‘Hath Se Hath Jodo Abhiyan’.
