Many prominent figures from different regions of the country, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav, former Jammu & Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah, and Bihar Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav, arrived in Chennai to attend Stalin's birthday celebration. They addressed a public gathering hosted in honor of the occasion.

In politics, it is often said that there are no permanent friends or enemies. This quote is frequently heard when political circumstances become heated in the country. During Tamil Nadu CM MK Stalin's 70th birthday celebration, politics took center stage instead of the birthday itself. Stalin himself initiated a discussion on this topic.

Nevertheless, he made a significant statement, emphasizing that all opposition parties should unite against the BJP. Stalin stressed that the 2024 Lok Sabha elections are crucial for the country's future. appealed to all opposition parties to work together, realizing that no party should come to power.  Stalin clarified that it is not possible to imagine an alliance without Congress while emphasizing the importance of forming alliances before the elections rather than after them. He also reiterated that DMK's association with Congress will continue.

During the event, Farooq Abdullah invited Stalin to join national politics, but the Tamil Nadu CM politely declined. At the same time Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge hinted that Congress will facilitate an anti-BJP government and if necessary, will help in forming a government whilst not necessarily pitching in for the PM post. This is seen as a significant move that may orient national politics before the 2024 general elections.
