The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday, March 26th, 2024, announced that actor Navneet Kaur Rana would be contesting from BJP, from Amravati Lok Sabha constituency in Maharashtra. For Telugu audience, Navneet Kaur is familiar as a telugu actress, who was seen in films like Seenu Vasanthi Lakshmi and Jagapathi among others.
Actor Navneet Kaur Rana, who hails from Maharashtra entered into politics after she got married to a BJP leader Ravi Rana. According to the reports, she first contested in elections from Amravati from NCP, but failed to win in 2014. Later on in 2019 she got elected as an Independent candidate and won from Amravati. However, later on, she showed her loyalty to the BJP. While the local leaders are not so happy about her candidature, it is said that her association with the party after her independent win made her the best choice for BJP.
India is gearing up for the Lok Sabha elections in multiple phases, starting from May 13, 2024 to June 1, according to the official announcement from the Election Commission of India.
