TDP's scion, Nara Lokesh, took aim at Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, a senior leader of the YCP, during his Yuvagalam padyatra in Punganur. Lokesh accused Peddireddy of attempting to usurp the chief minister's seat, perhaps to cause a rift between the minister and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Lokesh criticized Peddireddy for not doing any good for Chittoor district, despite being a senior minister in the Cabinet. Lokesh remarked that if any one district incurred significant losses under Jagan's administration, it would be Chittoor. Lokesh questioned why Peddireddy, despite being a senior minister, could not even bring industries to the district.

Lokesh stated that Peddireddy was patiently waiting for Jagan Mohan Reddy's imprisonment to take the CM position. He pledged that the Telugu Desam Party would strive to develop Chittoor in all aspects and that he would personally oversee the development of Punganur constituency. He promised that once the TDP takes power, factories would be established, and a job calendar would be released to provide employment opportunities for the youth.

These accusations can please the cadre but the people of Chittoor district and newly formed Tirupathi district are demanding to know what did his father, Chandrababu Naidu do to change the fate of the region during his decades in power, both before and after bifurcation.
