NATA IDOL & Pageant held in a grand way in Atlanta

The NATA Idol and Pageant was organized by NATA Atlanta on June 17 at the West Forsyth School. The signature NATA event was meant to platform excellent singing talent among the NRIs and to help Telugu-origin people living in the US stay connected to their roots.

EX EVP Bala Indurti, Sreenivasulu Reddy Kotlure (National Convention Advisor), Bhupal Reddy Panga BOD, Ravi Kandimalla BOD, Vangi Srinivas, Madhavi Indurti, Dodla Deepti Reddy, Neelima Gaddamanugu, Venkat Mondedu, Guru Parandami, Raghu Reddy Sagili, Sridhar Jyoti, Venkat Duggi Reddy, Pushyami Lanka, Jhansi Reddy, Hema Shilpa, Ravi Boreddy, Venkat Bussi, Venkat Pabbuleti, Venkata Rami Reddy Chintam, Seshu Kumar Vinakollu, and Chitti played a stellar role in organizing the event.

"In recent years, the event has given a great platform for NRI singers to display their talent, and passion and also seek opportunities to sing in Indian films. Very recent and fine examples are Sruthi Nanduri, a finalist of India Telugu Idol 2023, and Aditi Bavaraju, who sang quite a few numbers for composer SS Thaman in Telugu films," a source says.

Senior playback singer SP Sailaja and renowned lyricist Anantha Sriram were the judges. They listened to the singing talent of about 23 singers for the second round held at the city level.

Atlanta NATA IDOL team appreciated the national team chaired by Madhu Gonipati for coming up with rules, format and doing the needful on other fronts as well. Bala Indurti, the President of Sankara Netralaya, was also thanked profusely for setting up initial discussions with IDOL's judges and his support throughout.

"Kudos to Neelima Gaddamanugu, Founder of Nataraja Natyanjali Kuchipudi Academy, and BoD Sankara Netralaya for the rigorous exercise of registrations, track checking and helping out by guiding in every way. Special appreciation to Srivalli Sridhar for supporting registrations and vendor stalls," the organizers added in a statement.

The Atlanta city-level winners of IDOL will be participating in the semi-finals and finals for the Dallas convention. The national winner in the finals will get an opportunity to record the first song for a famous Telugu recording studio.

About the flagship event:

NATA Beauty Pageant is a NATA signature event that got off the ground this year, riding on high expectations. The three age demographic-based competitions included Teen, Miss and Mrs Pageants. The participants dazzled on stage in traditional and Western rounds with a varied display.

The national team chaired by Usharani Chinta had done an extremely meticulous job designing the program providing thorough and minute-by-minute execution details to each city team. The City team led by Deepthi Reddy Dodla supported by Pushyami, Hema Shilpa, Jhansi, and others did a commendable job in ensuring registrations are done in a timely manner. The registered participants went through several levels of practice sessions, including a session with Femina Miss India finalist Spandana Palli.

Atlanta was thrilled to welcome infamous Telugu actresses Laya Gorthy, winner of two Nandi awards for Best Actress in Telugu and a famous Kuchipudi dancer herself. Pooja Jhaveri, too, was an additional judge.

The Crown winners for each track will participate in the Dallas convention and the final crown winner will be crowned by none other than Tamannaah Bhatia, a star heroine of repute.

The organizers also extended special thanks to Upendra Rachupalli and Venu Thota for their extended support for this event.
