'Geethanjali Malli Vachindi': Kona Venkat mocks film critics over low ratings

'Geethanjali Malli Vachindi' hit the screens this Thursday. Upon its release, the horror-comedy received poor ratings from most film reviewers. However, as per its writer-producer Kona Venkat, the audience are finding the film absolutely enjoyable in theatres.

On Friday evening, taking to social media, the writer of films like 'Waltair Veerayya' mocked film critics by calling them "intellectual reviewers who couldn’t laugh". Plugging a video clip shot in a theatre where the audience were seen laughing with a scene involving comedian Sathya, he wrote, "Our only answer.. Geethanjali Malli Vachhindi Theatre response."

The film is produced by MVV Cinema and Kona Film Corporation. The sequel co-stars Anjali, Srinivas Reddy and others.

"Pravin Lakkaraju's background score is very good in some scenes. The songs work when seen in conjunction with the story. Sujatha Siddhartha's cinematography is decent. Chota K Prasad's editing is average," we opined in our 3-star review. "Director Shiva Turlapati come with a template-ish horror-comedy that is saved by genuinely funny scenes, especially in the second half. The dialogues, the eccentric situations and the quirky plot-turns make this film an enjoyable watch," our review further said.
