Game Changer's 'Jaragandi': Where is Shankar's magic?

'Jaragandi' is the first song from 'Game Changer'. After keeping Ram Charan's fans waiting for months and months on end, producers Dil Raju and Shirish today unveiled the song.

And it was much ado about little. It's not like the song is a total misfire, but it barely manages to live up to the sensational hype. The grandeur doesn't paper over the obvious limitations the song suffers from.

The Shankar Midas Touch is missing without doubt. The picturization of his songs is hauntingly beautiful usually. 'Jaragandi' is far too generic and you would like to believe that it is a Parasuram Petla song or something. Even 'Kalaavathi' from 'Sarkaru Vaari Paata' was better.

The fanbois out there would have felt happy had the release date of 'Game Changer' been announced. But no hopes on that front as well.

Starring Kiara Advani as Charan's pair, the film has music by Thaman. The song under review has been written by Anantha Sriram. Daler Mehendi's voice is good but the booming energy he is known for is absent. Prabhu Deva has choreographed the song.
