In a special teaser for 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' released on Tuesday, the symbol of Jana Sena Party is shown visually. Pawan Kalyan utters a punchline targeting a baddie, saying that a piece of glass becomes more and more sharp every time it is broken into smaller pieces. It is against the Model Code of Conduct to resort to political advertisement without the prior permission of the Election Commission.
Addressing the media on Wednesday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar said that he is yet to watch the teaser. "If it is indeed true that a tea glass has been shown, it tantamount to unauthorized political advertisement. We will send notices to the makers of the film," he added.
One wonders how Pawan Kalyan, who has been in politics for more than ten years, was not aware of this simple MCC norm.
