'Happy Ending' has a beautiful climax laced with emotions: Yash Puri

Yash Puri and Apoorva Rao are set to grace the screen in the upcoming release 'Happy Ending', a coming-of-age romantic comedy scheduled to hit theaters on February 2. Yash says that the film's premise is drawn from Itihasas.

"Every shot and cut in 'Happy Ending' is thoughtful. A weird curse that has roots in the Mahabharatham forms the essence of the story. That curse has several real-life consequences. What happens when such a premise is set in the present-day world, what does it take for the male lead to overcome those hurdles? 'Happy Ending' milks such possibilities. The male lead's tragedy will make the audience smile. While it is a tragedy from his perspective, the treatment makes the audience react otherwise. Vishnu Oi and Ajay Ghosh are refreshing," Yash says.

"More than the idea, the execution is what makes this film bold. It is not bold in the sense that it must be watched alone. It's something you must watch with your friends and family. We are celebrating love differently. It is not physical love that the film celebrates. It is about spiritual, poetic love. Fittingly, our film is coming out in theatres ahead of Valentine's Day. The climax has a beautiful, emotional twist. These days, 'Don't miss the climax' has become a marketing pitch. In the case of 'Happy Ending', it must be said genuinely that the climax is technically and artistically superior in a genuine way," Yash adds.

Yash says that the film begins with the curse but goes beyond and above. "It is a Dum Biryani-type treat," he adds.

The film, with music by Ravi Nidamarthi and cinematography by Ashok Seepalli, also features Jhansi, Anita Chaudhary, and others.
