Suma's son Roshan says he has faced negativity over his skin colour

'Bubblegum' is slated to hit the screens on December 29. Roshan Kanakala, the son of the Suma Kanakala-Rajeev Kanakala duo, is making his lead debut with the outing.

Speaking at the film's pre-release event on Sunday, Roshan rued that he has been written off by his detractors and trolls just because his skin colour is not of the 'right' type. "They have shamed me for trying to become a hero despite my dark complexion. I want to proclaim that your success is determined by three factors: talent, hard work and discipline. Your skin colour doesn't matter," Roshan said. As he made the assertions, his mother Suma turned slightly emotional and was seen fighting back tears.

People Media Factory is presenting 'Bubblegum' and is said to be ensuring that its release is decent alongside the Dil Raju-backed Nandamuri Kalyanram's 'Devil' this Friday. Maanasa Chaudhary is playing the female lead, while Bindu Chandramouli will be seen as the male lead's mother in this coming-of-age relationship drama.

'Bubblegum' is directed by Ravikanth Perepu, who has joined hands with music director Sricharan Pakala. Vishwak Sen, Adivi Sesh and Siddhu Jonnalagadda attended the event as guests.
