Girl brides, occult rituals in 'Salaar'

'Salaar' is going to hit the screens on December 22. It is learned that the film, starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles, will feature sexual violence and sexual threat in some of its scenes.

"There are references to rituals involving girl brides, but these do not contain graphic detail. Other scenes of sexual threat include several men attempting to claim ownership of a woman after they invade her home, and a man goading another by threatening to grope a captive woman," a Censor report says.

Generalized battle violence, hand-to-hand clashes, body slams, impactful blows, bloody knife violence, impalements, throat slashings and the severing of limbs are some of the visuals that are there in the Prashanth Neel directorial.

The film tells the story of a man who must leave behind his peaceful life to help a friend take down criminal gangs.

Meanwhile, reports say that Prabhas and Neel will be participating in an interview to be hosted by SS Rajamouli. This one will be aired across TV channels and will be available for streaming on all YouTube channels.

Produced by Hombale Films, 'Salaar' also features Jagapathi Babu, Shruti Haasan and others. Its music is by Ravi Basrur.
