'Dhootha': Naga Chaitanya's OTT debut garners good response at IFFI

The latest edition of the International Film Festival of India is currently being held in Goa. The first episode of 'Dhootha', Naga Chaitanya's OTT debut, was screened there on Sunday. The web series will stream on Amazon Prime Video from December 1. "In this supernatural horror, possessed inanimate objects wreak havoc on the lives of people who commit deadly sins," the series' synopsis on IMDb says.

Going by the early reviews, the web series has got an exciting premise. "Director Vikram K Kumar sets up the right mood for the series. Naga Chaitanya as Sagar Varma adequately fits the role. The engaging premise builds anticipation," a web review of the episode says.

The streaming giant has been promoting the show with enthusiasm, given it is its first long-form Telugu original. This is Chay's third collaboration with Vikram Kumar, the first two being 'Manam' and 'Thank You'. The web series completed its shooting last year.

Speaking at the festival, Chay said that he is open to doing more and more OTT in the coming years. Apparently, 'Dhootha' is not his one-off tryst with digital streaming.
