Nithiin has been criticized for making Pawan Kalyan references in his movies. Even in 'Extra', his upcoming release, there is going to be a Power Star reference.
In his latest interview, the 'Bheeshma' actor defended his proclivity to pay tributes to his favourite actor in his movies, over and over again. "I became a fan of Pawan Kalyan as a teen. I am not the kind of person who will say otherwise now that I am an actor myself," Nithiin said, suggesting that he can't be expected to ignore his favourite movie star just because he is now a celebrity.
It was after watching 'Toli Prema' on repeat mode that Nithiin became a huge fan of Pawan Kalyan in the late 1990s.
Nithiin said that he extends his moral support to Pawan in politics. "He is extraordinary. He doesn't require my endorsement. He is too big already," the 'Rang De' actor added.
The 'Check' and 'Maestro' actor also said that the failure of 'Macherla Niyojakavargam' has made him think twice about doing mass entertainers. He now believes in the commercial formula filled with urbane comedy.
