Mindset of 'Leo' director is superior to that of 'Jawan' director

Mindset matters a lot. Recently, star Kollywood director Atlee said that a union between Shah Rukh Khan and Thalapathy Vijay will result in a Rs 3,000-Cr movie. This came after his first Hindi film, 'Jawan', crossed Rs 1,000 Cr at the box-office. A star director was openly talking about numbers instead of art, creativity and imagination. Numbers are everything to him, critics lamented.

Lokesh Kanagaraj, who is creatively superior to Atlee, doesn't care about collections. In a recent interview, the 'Vikram' director remarked that he doesn't care how much 'Leo' collects at the box-office. 'Leo' may or may not beat Rajinikanth's 'Jailer' in terms of collections, he suggested.

This is interesting. Lokesh is one of the few directors who has worked with superstars more than a couple of times. And all his future films are going to be headlined by superstars. It is essential not to trump up the numbers for such a filmmaker.

'Leo', starring Thalapathy Vijay in the lead, will hit the screens on October 19. It has music by Anirudh Ravichander.
