Among the many heroes from Tamil industry who have impressed Telugu audiences, in the current era Ilayathalapthy Vijay has had least success when compared to Karthi, Suriya, Vikram and many others. One massive hit in Telugu has always eluded Vijay who has been keen to make a foray strongly into the Tollywood market.
Here comes his next film Varasudu, directed by Vamsi Paidipally who has worked hard to bring this film into a reality. Dil Raju has produced this movie prestigiously under his banner Sri Venkateshwara creation and it has already been released in Tamil version on January 11th. The film has joined the lucrative Sankranti race and it will be released after three days in Telugu version.
Earlier, Vamsi Paidipally has the experience of directing many Telugu stars. He has directed Prabhas in Munna, Yevadu with Bunny and Ram Charan, Brundavanam with NTR, Maharshi with Mahesh Babu and Oopiri with Nagarjuna and Karthi. With the exception of Munna, all other films have become a hit but after Maharshi no other Tollywood hero was able to do a film with him.
After Maharshi, he had planned to work once again with Mahesh Babu but the actor was not that impressed by the story line and hence Vamsi had to search for other heroes. He couldn’t get any dates with Bunny, Ram Charan or NTR since most of them were busy with other films. After Dil Raju gave him an idea, he narrated a story to Tamil hero Vijay and that is how the film Varasudu started.
However, it is now being revealed that the story is not a fresh one, but based on routine formula films in Telugu. Finally, the film has gone on sets. The film which released amid huge expectations has started attracting the audience and particularly, the proper elevation given in some scenes has definitely impressed his fans. The story seems to be a dampener finally and this is a widely shared comment.
The reviews say that the director has given a lot of prominence to celebrations but he hasn’t focused much on the story and in case he would have developed a story suiting his stardom, the movie would have gone places. Tamil fans are reportedly very upset with the director about not giving enough prominence to the story part.
