A lightening strike damages the Qutb Shahi mosque minaret

Qutb Shahi mosque in Hyderabad is of historical importance and it is also recognised by the World Heritage Convention of UNESCO. According to the latest, heavy rains embedded with thunders and lightning damaged the Qutb Shahi mosque minaret.

Residents claim that they heard a lightning and thunder sound strike the Qutb Shahi mosque and a cracking sound later. Karwan MLA, Kauser Mohiuddin visited the mosque later and interacted with the management committee members. The members of the Management Committee who examined the mosque found that the electrical appliances like amplifiers and wiring were damaged to a great extent.A few minutes later the plaster from the minaret fell on the ground.

Karwan MLA, Kauser Mohiuddin shared "Lighting strike 400 years old Qutub Shahi Masjid, Langarhouz. I inspected the Masjid to access the damage. The lighting stuck the Masjid minar resulting in damage to the minar and cracks inside the Masjid walls.On the representation of AIMIM Prez Br @asadowaisi Telangana Govt recently sanctioned 25 lakhs for the conservation and maintenance of this Qutub Shahi Masjid.#HyderabadRains"

He promised to take the matter with the Telangana State Wakf Board.
