Virat Kohli reacts to rumours about his income from Instagram posts

It has been reported that former Indian skipper Virat Kohli makes as much as Rs 11.45 Cr from each Instagram post that he makes. The reports have stunned everyone, considering that the amount is spectacular.

On Saturday, Kohli took to Twitter and described the reports as untrue. "While I am grateful and indebted to all that I have received in life, the news that has been making rounds about my social media earnings is not true," he wrote, without elaborating further.

Usually, film stars, cricketers and businessmen don't react to reports about their speculated earnings. Estimates are published by international magazines like Forbes on the basis of the submissions made by them.

In the latest instance, Kohli has tried to bring a new practice into effect by publicly denying media reports. Many will refuse to take his clarification at face value. In any case, such corporate earnings are tracked by banks and tax authorities. It is unlikely that Kohli is scared of the tax man.
