Once again, the specter of Coronavirus looms over the country as cases surge, causing widespread confusion. The central government is on high alert as the number of cases continues to rise, and the states have been warned. During a review of public health preparedness on Friday, the Center brought the issue of Coronavirus to the forefront of everyone's attention.

According to data from the Union Health Ministry, India recorded 6,155 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the total number of active cases to 31,194. A new strain of Coronavirus, known as 'XBB 1.16' or Arturus, has made its way into the country, and medical experts warn that it spreads faster than previous strains. While it is not considered dangerous at the moment, there is a possibility of it transforming and becoming stronger. The Center is urging people to remain vigilant.

Common symptoms of the Corona virus include fever, cold, cough, sore throat, loss of smell and taste. However, the XBB 1.16 variant brings with it some new symptoms, such as high fever, cold, cough, and itchy eyes. What is particularly concerning is that this strain is affecting children more.

Despite the increasing number of cases, many people are still not taking Coronavirus seriously. The central government is repeatedly alerting the states and providing guidance on how to handle the situation. The Union Health Minister, Mansukh Mandaviya, conducted a review on Friday and offered several suggestions for dealing with the outbreak.
