India has reportedly overtaken China in population to become the most populous country in the world according to latest estimates. It was speculated three decades ago that India will overtake China by 2024 and last year, it was said it might happen after 2023 but now as reality sinks in, we are 141.7 crore strong and ahead of China by 50 lakh.
Although it was predicted that there may be many disadvantages due to this, there are many advantages as well. Firstly, we have a vibrant services sector that has created a unique identity for India and a great recognition for Indians all over the world. Moreover, we have made impressive strides in the digital economy compared to the population ration that we have. We use digital payment wallets more widely than any other developing country. This is making the banking system strong with perennial transactions of money.
Moreover Indians have a reputation worldwide for being a hardworking race that is non controversial and blends in where they are. These are among the host of advantages that we as the largest populated country can now boast of. India has one of the most youngsters in the world that is expected to be our big asset in the years to go.
