Prime Minister Narendra Modi today was in Zahirabad to address a rally. On the occasion, he alleged that the Revanth Reddy government has been extracting money from industrialists and contractors. He dubbed it the RR Tax.
In his speech, the BJP leader said that the Telugu film industry gave 'RRR', making India proud. However, the Telangana Congress has only contributed in the form of RR Tax, which he said has brought shame. "Industrialists and contractors in Telangana are forced to pay a part of the RR tax from the backdoor. Out of the total money made from this RR tax, a major chunk of it is sent to Delhi in the form of black money," Modi alleged.
For the past two days, the BJP has been training guns on the Revanth Reddy government. It has to be seen whether Modi's allegation will become a rallying point around which his party will be able to mobilize public support against the Congress party in the Lok Sabha elections. It is likely that the Congress party will come up with a thorough pushback soon.
