The year 2022 is all set to end and here’s some interesting information about one of India’s best known female sportswomen.

The badminton star of India and our proud Telugu bidda, PV Sindhu has made it to the list of top 25 in Forbes' annual list in the category of highest-paid female athletes globally. Sindhu, who won the Tokyo Olympics silver medal in 2016 is at 12th spot in this list while Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka stands first.

The 27-year-old gem of Indian Badminton has reportedly made total earnings of $7.1 million this year. On the game front, she won singles gold and doubles silver earlier in 2022 at the Commonwealth Games held in Birmingham, UK. Among the Forbes' annual list of the World's highest-paid female athletes, tennis players are the most prominent ones this year too.

The ultimate cricket mania for 2023 has already set its ball rolling. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction has set new records with three highest buys ever registered. The English all-rounder Sam Curran was picked for Rs 18.50 crore by Punjab Kings while the Australian all-rounder Cameron Green was picked for Rs 17.50 crore by Mumbai Indians.

Sam Curran has now set a record as the costliest player ever to be acquired in an IPL auction. Meanwhile, England’s Test captain Ben Stokes was selected by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 16.25 crore, similar to the previous record holder Chris Morris.

Nicholas Pooran has become the highest bid West Indies player. He was bought by Lucknow Supergiants for Rs 16 crore. Harry Brook was picked by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 13.25 crore.
