Twist: Hyderabad police refute 'rumours' about closure of shops

"The recent social media news making rounds that the Hyderabad city police are closing shops by 10.30 pm or 11 pm is totally misleading. The shops and establishments will open or close as per the existing rules," the official handle of the Hyderabad city police said on Monday night.

The update is nothing less than a twist. Only hours earlier, the official social media handles of the Telangana Congress had said that all shops and establishments in Hyderabad would be shut down by 11 pm. It is surprising that the same has now been described as fake news by the police.

"The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. The police won't follow any law. The Congress tweets out saying we are creating new rules to stop all shops to close by 11 pm. Now the Hyderabad Police reject these claims. Banana Policing," wrote Srinivas Kodali.

Anyway, the decision not to clamp down on the nightlife of Hyderabadis is most welcome. It makes business sense as well as logistical sense. Thousands of youngsters in the IT sector work night shifts.
