40 Election officers suspended in Hyderabad ahead of Lok Sabha polls

In a significant move ahead of the impending Parliamentary elections on May 13, 2024, the District Election Officer (DEO) and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Commissioner (GHMC), Ronald Ross, have taken decisive action by suspending 40 officers, primarily comprising Presiding Officers (PO) and Assistant Presiding Officers (APO). The suspension stems from their failure to participate in mandatory training sessions crucial for election preparedness.

These officers, drawn from various state departments, had been entrusted with vital election duties for the upcoming Secunderabad and Hyderabad parliamentary elections. However, despite repeated reminders and leniency extended by the DEO, their absence from the requisite training sessions lead to this disciplinary action.

The state of Telangana is going for the elections on May 13, 2024.
