Former Bodhan MLA Mohammed Shakeel Aamir’s son, Mohamemd Aamir Raheel, was arrested by the Hyderabad police on Monday, April 8, 2024.
Mohamemd Aamir Raheel has been allegedly absconding since escaping police custody after being involved in an accident near ‘Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan’ on December 24. According to the police Raheel, drove a BMW car recklessly on the main road and rammed into the barricade opposite Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan, Begumpet.
Investigation revealed that the main accused Raheel who was at the wheel at the time of offence tried to mislead the case.“The accused not only escaped police custody after the incident but also influenced the Police officer in manipulation of the facts by way of allowing impersonation and causing disappearance of evidence in collusion with some others,” said Hyderabad police in a statement after Raheel’s arrest.
On Monday, he surrendered to police, and on questioning, he confessed to having committed the offences. The accused was sent to judicial custody and further investigation is underway.
