ED Extends Custody For MLC Kavitha In Liquor Scam

The Enforcement Directorate, on March 23rd, 2024, extended the custody for MLC K Kavitha for three more days. Following the completion ED remand period the agency filed a petition requesting to extend the custody in the court. Kavitha was arrested in the Delhi Liquor scam on March 15, 2024.

Following the arrest of K Kavitha, ED in its press statement stated that investigation revealed that K Kavitha along with others conspired with the top leaders of Aam Aadmi Party including Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia for getting favours in the Delhi Excise policy-formulation and implementation. In exchange for these favours, she was involved in paying Rs. 100 Crore to the leaders of AAP. Earlier, the Special PMLA Court, New Delhi has remanded her for ED custodial interrogation for Seven days till March 23, 2024.

As the period stands complete now, the ED extended its period for interrogation.

Meanwhile it is known that the enforcement directorate has also arrested the Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal on March 21, 2024 and filed a petition in the court requesting 10 day custody.
