Kalvakuntla Kavitha has come under the ED radar and she is facing the police action now as she has been arrested by the ED sleuths and is being shifted to Delhi for further investigation.
This brings us to the question - why is Kavitha arrested in the Delhi Liquor case?
Firstly, Kaivtha is accused of conspiring the problematic Delhi Liquor Case along with the former deputy CM of Delhi, Manish Sisodia.
Kavitha is accused of holding benami investments in the tainted company Indospirits. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has alleged that ₹100 crore kickbacks were exchanged in the scam, and money was transferred from Hyderabad to Delhi.
The key allegation against K. Kavitha is that she was part of the South Lobby and conspired with the Aam Aadmi Party government's Deputy CM, Manish Sisodia, and others in formulating the Delhi excise policy.
The ED further alleges that Kavitha invested money through her benamis and returned the money from the company after getting the licences.
