Delhi High court dismisses Arvind Kejriwal’s plea challenging his arrest by ED

Arvind Kejriwal knocked the Delhi High Court door challenging his arrest by ED and remand order passed by the trial court. Delhi high court dismissed the plea after the trail on Tuesday April 9, 2024

In his plea, Kejriwal stated that his arrest and remand was illegal. He said, “The central government is misusing the ED to arrest him in the context of election and create a non level playing field.”

While dismissing the plea Delhi court observed, “The material collected by ED reveals Mr Arvind Kejriwal conspired and was actively involved in use and concealment of proceeds of crime. The ED case also reveals that he was involved in his personal capacity as well as convenor of AAP.”

Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate on March 21 with corruption charges in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam. The special PMLA court in Delhi had remanded Arvind Kejriwal for ED custody for Ten days before he was shifted to Tihar jail. Presently, Arvind Kejriwal is lodged in Tihar jail.
