NIA Arrested Key Conspirator In Rameshwaram Cafe Blast Case

In a major breakthrough in the Rameshwaram Cafe blast case, the National Investigation Agency(NIA) on March 27th, 2024, arrested a key conspirator following massive raids across multiple locations in three states. The news came into light on Thursday night i.e., March 28.

NIA identified one of the accused as Muzammil Shareef who had allegedly extended logistic support to the two other accused in this case, involving an IED explosion at the Café located at ITPL road,Brookefield, Bengaluru, on 1st March.

NIA investigations have revealed that accused Muzammil Shareef colluded with two others the main accused, MussavirShazeeb Hussain, who had carried out the blast and another conspirator, AbdulMatheen Taha to carry out the blast. In the blast several customers and hotel staff members were injured, some of them grievously. All this chaos caused extensive damage to the property.

NIA, which took over the case on 3rd March, conducted massive raids across three states at 18 locations, including 12 in Karnataka, 5 in Tamil Nadu, and one in Uttar Pradesh. Various digital devices, along with cash, were seized during the searches. Efforts are on to nab the absconding accused.
