Actor Govinda jumps to the side of CM Eknath Shinde, gets trolled

Bollywood actor Govinda is back in politics. And he is billed to contest as the MP on a Shiv Sena ticket in the upcoming General Elections. He joined the Shiv Sena in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in Mumbai on Thursday.

It may be recalled that Govinda, known for his comical antics in movies and serious insincerity in politics, was a Congress MP from the Virar constituency in the 2000s. "I was in politics from 2004 to 2009. This is an amazing coincidence that now, after 14 years, today I have come into politics again," he said.

A lot of Netizens are unhappy with Govinda suddenly gaining attention and importance. "He was a disaster as an MP. People elected him instead of Ram Naik. Govinda predictably disappointed. Totally unprofessional and unreliable fellow," wrote a Twitter user. "Not a good move. He is known for his attitude. Away from the public and now surfacing just before elections. He will add no value even if elected," commented a Netizen.

There is a theory that Shiv Sena will be forced by the BJP to give Govinda a raw deal.
