INDIA bloc calls for a Maha rally for Arvind Kejriwal

Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance(INDIA) bloc leaders announced on Sunday, March 24, 2024 that they would be organising a Maha Rally in protest against the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind kejriwal by the Enforcement directorate(ED) in connection with the Delhi Liquor scam.

Briefing the press about the Maha rally, INDIA bloc allies Aam Aadmi Party(AAP) and Indian National Congress (INC), AAP leader Gopal Rai said, “Democracy is at risk. All the INDIA-bloc parties will hold this 'maha rally' to safeguard the country's democracy". He further gave a call to the citizens of the country who are worried about the nation to come and join the protest at Ram leela Maidan on March 31 in New Delhi.

It is pertinent to note that Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Enforcement directorate on March 21 in connection with the Delhi liquor policy scam. The special PMLA court, Delhi has remanded Arvind Kejriiwal for ED custody for six days till March 28, 2024.
