YCP manifesto promises Separate Panchayat for SC/ST as per population

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy assured to establish ‘special panchayats’ for dalits according to their population.SC/ST welfare found a separation section in the YSRCP manifesto released by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday.

Reiterating that in the last five years YSRCP gave prominence to SC/ ST during its tenure, put out the welfare distribution date in the manifesto. According to the manifesto, Rs 45,412 crores were deposited into the dalit families accounts through direct benefit transfer(DBT) as a part of welfare measures. Further another Rs 23,469 crores were deposited as a part of Non direct benefit transfer(NDBT). Likewise Rs 13,389 crores were deposited into the ST families accounts through direct benefit transfer(DBT) as a part of welfare measures. Further, another Rs 5,963 crores were deposited as a part of Non direct benefit transfer(NDBT).

Further the manifesto boasted about the transparent implementation of SC/ST sub plan, establishing a separate panchayat for ST’s and unveiling of the biggest Ambedkar statue in Vijayawada.

Assuring to continue all the present benefits, YSRCP assured that if a village/Gram panchayat has a 50 percent of dalit population, it would be declared as a separate panchayat in the same line of Separate panchayat for STs. Through this Dalit will attain political power and benefit through welfare schemes most.
