Lambasting the TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu for neglecting the community in Andhra Pradesh, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said that his government cleared Rs 120 crore dues of Andhra Pradesh State Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society (APCO) and allocated RS 420 crores more for the welfare of the Weavers community. The dues were pending from the TDP rule.

He said, “Chandrababu spent only Rs 4000 crore per year, but we are spending Rs 2000 crore per month on pensions, which are being distributed at your doorstep with the help of volunteers. Over 94,410 handloom weavers’ families are getting pensions under YSRCP Govt”.

Meanwhlie, pointing at the failures Chandrababu Naidu, Jagan said, “Be it property tax exemption for Handloom Cooperative Societies, ID cards for loom workers, Rs 1 lakh corporate loan facility, special fund of Rs 1000 crore for handloom weavers, free health insurance for weavers, increase in pension, district level centres to help weavers market their products, Handloom Park, none of these were fulfilled.”
