TDP Officially becomes zero in Rajya Sabha, the Upper house

With the Telugu Desam Party, one and only Rajya Sabha candidate, MP Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar’s tenure ended on April 2, 2024. With this, the TDP became a party with zero Members in the upper house of the parliament, i.e., Rajya Sabha. Since the inception of the Telugu Desam Party, this is the first time that the party has become clean sweep in Rajya Sabha.

On the other hand, the YSRCP has become the fourth largest party in Rajya Sabha. As per the figures, the BJP has 97 members, Congress has 29, TMC has 13, and YSRCP has 11. In total, Andhra, there are only 11 Rajya Sabha members, and all of them belong to the YSRCP.

Meanwhile, the new members, YV Subbareddy, Babu Rao, and Meda Raghunath Reddy, would soon have their swearing-in ceremony as Rajya Sabha members.
