EC order: Blessing In Disguise For YCP

The Election Commission has ordered the YSR Congress government not to use AP volunteers for cash distribution programs including the pension distribution process. This is in response to a complaint that has been filed against the usage of volunteers to influence the electoral trends at the grassroots level.

This will essentially mean that the YCP government can't use volunteers for pensions and cash distribution scheme for the next couple of months. Well, this could come as a blessing in disguise for the YCP government.

Over the last 5 years, these volunteers were used to distribute the pensions to every eligible household in Andhra Pradesh. Now that the ECI has banned the use of volunteers for this program, the public will get to see the pre-Jagan days when getting the pensions from the government was a hassle.

This will emphasise the need of volunteer-based pension program when the money was getting handed over to the beneficiary before sunrise. The public will get to realize the difference between Jagan and Chandrababu Naidu.

Volunteers system is a brainchild of CM Jagan and they were used to push forward several direct benefit transfer schemes by the YCP government over the last five years. The EC has now ordered a ban on the use of this volunteer system.
